Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!
-Psalm 133:1
Dear loved ones,
And how good and how pleasant it is to say this: We have a Children’s Home in Cuernavaca! For the first time in 5 years, as we pulled out of Cuernavaca for the 14+ hour drive back to Monterrey, I wasn’t thinking about the next thing that had to be done. It’s done enough (insert smile here). Done enough to host many children. Done enough for growth. Done enough for safety in every way. Done enough for space. Done enough for fun too. Sure there will always be something, and we will celebrate if we ever need to expand some more, but for right now…let’s just enjoy the good of this hard fought moment.
Pastor Chayo wanted to be able to see the 2nd floor done (before he loses his sight completely). Now he has. I wanted to see the backyard playground done and in order. It is! Finally. It took a lot of shoveling didn’t it boys? 3 more dump trucks of backfill and one big topsoil.
The kids couldn’t wait! They knew the playground and play area were in the final stages and they were ready to climb! We are built to climb! To advance. They’ll have every opportunity to do so if we can help it. They like the swing set too 🙂
The East Lincoln Alliance Church, mostly Warriors from Amery, WI did it again. We all came together as one for the glory of God. And it was glorious and pleasant and good. And I might add, exhausting too. But the good tired when it was all said and done. The blessed kind of tired.
For there the LORD commanded the blessing—- Life forevermore.
And that concludes Psalm 133. And may He bless Miracle of Life Children’s Home in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Amen.
Praise Report!
And we poured and poured….and poured cement too didn’t we boys!!! Even when the mixer broke 🙂 Ohhh, the memories! But now the sidewalk connects the front to the back and there is a new laundry area and work zone too…
And we painted and painted. Well, Kathy and Annalea painted and painted 3 bathrooms, stained the new cabinets (speaking of the new cabinets, don’t
they look fantastic!!). And don’t forget the details…20+ curtain rods, maintenance, some doors hung and trimmed…
Plus the group participated in 4 different types of services throughout the week. Casa de Dios Church celebrated their 15th Anniversary while we were there! This is the church that was all but destroyed in 2012 for those who may remember. We support this great work along with the Children’s Home in Cuernavaca.
Other than that, the group pretty much relaxed!
Spencers’ family mission March 2nd-18th!
Here they come!
We’ll have more than plenty for them too… In Los Canelos, the sidewalk pouring has begun! We hope to have approximately 500 square yards poured over the next 4 weeks as we prepare for back-to-back camp weeks around Easter along with our Good Friday celebration and hosting.
On a difficult note, please pray for the families of the most recent group that we hosted. They came up from SE Mexico to attend a conference in Monterrey. While attending, they stayed at our facility. 10 of the 16 perished in an accident as they neared home. The other 6 were injured but survived.
I also ask that you pray for Octavio. We brought him up from Cuernavaca to help with the work these coming weeks. He’s had a very rough, painful life, but now is seeking God and leaving drug and alcohol addiction behind…And Samuel, Josa, visiting Jerad from WI, the Spencers, Minnie, Sophia, Francisco, Jorge, Grandma Mary…the list goes on as I think upon how we really strive to see Psalm 133 reflected once again this month.
God bless you all. We love you.
Keep smiling. And love from, Gary and Minnie and Sophia, along with all your family in Mexico.
