The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD over many waters. -Psalm 29:3

Dear loved ones,

While I was on my way to preach with a heavy heart, Minnie was on her way to the police station. It was time to file a restraining order against the primary seller of our land buy. The process goes on, and the pain, as we are approximately 1,000 pages of legal documents into this process that’s in its 6th year… And then the cyclone hit. We’ve had no electricity and/or water for a good share of the last few months, the cyclone didn’t help. The quiet river below us rose some 15 feet. When God wants it to rain, it does.

Monterrey has had a severe water shortage the past couple years. The reservoir that feeds the city has been all but dried up. Water was being hauled up into the city from the south and the experts said that it would take 3 years to recover, if it ever did. Then God made Cyclone Alberto. By the time the cyclone passed, all the water was to overflow, the dam above us needed to be opened as we beheld Power. And pleaded for the water to stop.

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD sits enthroned as king forever. -Psalm 29:10

What storms are passing through your life? I cannot say that I’ve weathered or am weathering them all so gracefully, but there are a couple thoughts that press to the forefront as I write. The LORD is not panicked. He sits enthroned over the flood. I find that fact very comforting. You and I are invited to rest there too. There is so much to report this month, but to me the best report are the answers from the LORD as I’ve been guest preaching through these difficulties. I have done guest preaching at 4 different churches, celebrated a 15th birthday, and we have much more coming all through the summer. God is impacting lives through His word. It never changes, even when the flood waters reach threatening heights.

May the LORD give strength to his people!

May the LORD bless his people with peace.

 -Psalm 29:11

The flood waters and the dangers therein have come down. We thank God that our facility handled the deluge very well, but we sure didn’t want to see the water rise anymore! And God has shut the mouths of the lions we have been enduring during this land process. At least for now, the threats have ceased. Even though, as I write, we are out of water and electricity once again! (Insert smile here.)

Strength and peace to you.

And may our roots grow deep within the Rock.
